Job description

We’re looking for a practical, detail-focused Systems Test Engineer to support the validation and quality assurance of a modern, connected technology platform combining both hardware and software elements.

Working as part of a close-knit engineering team, you will play a key role in ensuring that products are thoroughly tested and ready for deployment. This position involves hands-on testing, fault diagnosis, and contributing to the overall quality strategy across the product lifecycle.

You’ll take a user-first approach to testing, helping to identify real-world issues before release through a mix of structured test execution and exploratory techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out end-to-end system testing across integrated hardware and software environments
  • Identify, log, and track defects, ensuring clear communication with development teams
  • Design and maintain test documentation including plans, scenarios, and detailed test cases
  • Perform a combination of manual, exploratory, and black-box testing
  • Support the development of automated tests, including scripting or basic hardware-assisted setups
  • Build, configure, and maintain test environments across multiple platforms (desktop, mobile
  • Investigate and troubleshoot system issues, working closely with engineers to drive resolution
  • Set up and adjust lab-based test rigs, including basic hardware configuration where required
  • Execute regression testing to ensure stability prior to releases

Experience:

  • Background in electronics, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline (academic or practical)
  • Experience with system-level testing or product validation in a technology-driven environment
  • Strong interest in fault-finding and understanding how systems behave under stress or edge conditions
  • Comfortable working across both physical devices and software interfaces
  • Familiarity with scripting (e.g. Python) or entry-level automation techniques
  • Understanding of operating systems and common test environments (e.g. Windows, mobile platforms, web interfaces)
  • Ability to manage tasks independently and work with minimal supervision
