We are supporting an innovative manufacturing business in the search for a New Product Introduction Engineer to strengthen its engineering and quality capability during an exciting period of growth.
This position will play a critical role in supporting the successful introduction of new products from development through to full-scale manufacturing. Working closely with engineering, operations and supply chain teams, you will help ensure robust product and process controls are implemented, supporting quality, reliability and manufacturing performance throughout the product lifecycle.
The successful candidate will provide technical expertise across product introduction and manufacturing activities while supporting quality planning, problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities:
- Support the introduction of new products into manufacturing, ensuring quality, reliability and manufacturability requirements are effectively considered throughout the process.
- Contribute to product quality planning and production approval activities for new and existing programmes.
- Apply recognised engineering and quality methodologies, including risk assessments, process reviews and control strategies.
- Support prototype, pilot and validation builds, identifying and resolving technical and manufacturing challenges.
- Work closely with cross-functional project teams, providing technical input on product, process and quality-related matters.
- Investigate product and process issues, driving root cause analysis and implementing sustainable corrective actions.
- Collaborate with suppliers to support component qualification, process capability and ongoing quality performance.
- Assess potential product and process risks, implementing preventative measures to support quality, delivery and cost objectives.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects focused on product reliability, manufacturing capability and operational efficiency.
- Support the implementation and use of quality tools such as FMEA, control plans, problem-solving methodologies and continuous improvement techniques.
Experience/Skills:
- HNC, HND or Degree qualified in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Strong technical understanding of electronics, electromechanical products or complex manufactured assemblies.
- Experience supporting new product introduction, product development, manufacturing engineering, process engineering or quality engineering activities within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of structured engineering and quality tools such as FMEA, root cause analysis, SPC, MSA, control plans or problem-solving methodologies.
- Experience of APQP and formal quality planning processes would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings and manufacturing requirements while supporting product and process improvements.
- Experience working collaboratively with engineering, manufacturing, operations and supply chain stakeholders.
- Exposure to sectors such as electronics, automotive, aerospace, medical devices or other technically regulated manufacturing environments would be beneficial.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and challenge constructively when required.
