Looking for a development role where you can work remotely within a startup environment?  We’re helping our Cardiff based client to scale up the engineering team.

About the company:

  • They have a remote set up with one day per quarter for socials in the Cardiff office.
  • Personality fit is as important as technical capabilities, which means the culture is relaxed with no egos.
  • They offer a structured road map in terms of progression and they provide a budget for learning and development

About you:

  • As a Senior Software Engineer, you will have experience of using TypeScript on the front and back end.
  • You will be embedded in the Golang team so experience with Go is a bonus but not essential.
  • You have an inquisitive nature and want to constantly develop your skills.
  • You believe the best way to really understand technical capabilities is to break things to build them back up, or you just like designing your own solutions.

About the role:

  • You will write clean, idiomatic, and maintainable code that aligns to business requirements
  • Ensure all work is covered by suitable unit tests
  • Proactive contribution to technical excellence through peer reviews and development of best practices
  • Ensure a suitable level of documentation is maintained
  • Effective contribution to team activities including Scrum Events
  • Commitment to the continual improvement of the software, the team, the discipline, and the business
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Architects and other stakeholders
  • Support the growth of the discipline through coaching and mentoring

Essential:

  • Significant professional experience with TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Experience with both React and Express.js (or similar frameworks)
  • Use of AWS (or other cloud platform providers)
  • Experience with CI/CD and DevOps tooling and processes
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a Scrum/Agile team
  • Knowledge and awareness of accessibility standards and best practices
  • Practical understanding of the importance of Secure Software Development practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
