Technical Project Manager - Cloud / Security / Infrastructure 

6 months initially - Cardiff - you must be within easy commuting distance to Cardiff as it's 2-3 days onsite each week. 

£500-575 p/d Inside IR35 - good chance of extensions

Are you a highly skilled Project Manager with a strong technical background? We're looking for a driven individual to lead and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of IT projects, from initial design through to implementation and successful handover to support teams.

Ideal technical skills and experience 

  • Technical Expertise:
    • Solid understanding of Cyber Security principles.
    • Experience with Cloud Infrastructure and Migration, preferably with Microsoft Azure.
    • Knowledge of IT infrastructure, end-user computing, and service management.
  • Project Management Skills:
    • Strong experience with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
    • Proven track record in managing IT projects of various sizes, from inception to operational handover.
  • Communication and Leadership:
    • Ability to translate technical details into clear, actionable plans.
    • Skilled in engaging with stakeholders at all levels to ensure project alignment.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities:
    • Critical thinker with the capacity to handle crises effectively.
    • Excellent negotiation skills for managing both internal teams and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Project Management: Oversee the entire project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with technical requirements and delivery milestones.
  • Documentation: Create and manage essential project governance documents, including Project Initiation Documents (PID), RACI matrices, and detailed requirements.
  • Team Coordination: Lead both internal and external technical resources, including Managed Service Providers, to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Risk and Issue Management: Identify potential challenges and implement solutions to mitigate project risks.
  • Operational Handover: Ensure seamless integration of projects into ongoing operational support.

 

  • Preferred Skills:
  • Proficient in using project management tools like MS Project, Asana, Trello, and Kanban boards.
  • Experience with collaboration tools such as MS Teams, SharePoint, and DevOps platforms like Confluence and Azure DevOps.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and creating operational process documents to support project delivery.
