To do this role, you will need:
- Sound experience of testing and investigating metals and materials
- Strong technical analysis and analytic problem-solving skills (practical lab investigations and report writing)
- Clear understanding of bearings, gears and other tribological component types
- Good knowledge of wear and tear mechanisms of materials, corrosion, stress corrosion cracking (SCC) etc.
- Good understanding of how engineering components, how they function, decline and fail.
Criteria to apply:
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree and 4+ years professional experience
- Or PhD in a relevant field
- Membership of a professional body would be beneficial
- The right to live and work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
