Oracle DBA - fully remote - 6 month contract 

£600-650p/d Inside IR35

We are seeking a dynamic individual to contribute to the ongoing support and enhancement of our clients cutting-edge database infrastructure. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of their 24/7 production environment, all while enjoying a supportive team atmosphere and ample opportunities for professional growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide round-the-clock support for our production environment, adhering to SLAs with precision.
  • Tackle and resolve issues related to Oracle databases and associated applications.
  • Take charge of lifecycle management, streamlining processes through automation and maintenance efforts.
  • Guide new projects from inception to seamless integration into our core applications.
  • Handle installation, configuration, monitoring, and management of Oracle Databases.
  • Conduct database patching and upgrades with finesse.

Desired Skills:

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Oracle database support, particularly at the 19g level.
  • Proficiency in diagnostic and tuning techniques using OEM for Oracle databases.
  • Sound understanding of backup, recovery, and high availability solutions.
  • Familiarity with Linux and Aix Operating Systems is a plus.
  • Proven track record in production support and collaboration with development teams.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with offshore teams and external vendors.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A knack for problem-solving and a talent for shell scripting.
  • Comfortable working independently or as part of a cohesive team.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a commitment to knowledge sharing and thorough documentation.
  • Thrive under pressure and consistently meet deadlines.

Advantageous Skills:

  • Experience with Oracle Ebusiness Financials and OEM 13c.
  • Proficiency in database cloning techniques.
  • Familiarity with HA RAC, Data Guard, and DevOps methodologies (e.g., JIRA, GITHUB).
  • Exposure to Oracle Middleware Infrastructure and Informatica Powercenter.
  • Knowledge of Azure cloud services.
