We're exclusively partnering with a manufacturing company to hire a Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor to take responsibility for the day-to-day management, development and continuous improvement of its Environmental, Health & Safety systems across multiple locations.
Reporting to the Operations Director, you'll work closely with stakeholders throughout the business to ensure compliance with legislative requirements, maintain recognised standards and accreditations, and support the ongoing development of a positive health, safety and environmental culture.
As the successful Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor, you will:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen health, safety and environmental performance across the business.
- Lead EH&S audits, investigations and risk assessment activities, using findings, trends and root cause analysis to implement effective corrective actions.
- Support and influence managers and employees through coaching, training and awareness programmes, helping to embed a proactive safety culture.
- Coordinate compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and OSHA requirements, while maintaining relevant permits, surveys and statutory obligations.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders including regulatory bodies, insurers, contractors, landlords and training providers.
- Support new product, process, and business improvement initiatives, ensuring that health, safety, and environmental considerations are incorporated from the outset.
- Manage emergency preparedness, business continuity testing and employer liability claims, ensuring lessons learned are communicated and implemented.
- Produce meaningful management information and reports to support business decision-making and ongoing improvement activities.
You will need to be able to demonstrate:
- Experience within a Health, Safety & Environmental role.
- Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation and compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting or managing management systems, audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- The ability to analyse information, identify trends and implement effective corrective actions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to influence, coach and support colleagues at all levels of an organisation.
- Experience working with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, contractors and training providers.
