Continuous Improvement Manager
£50,000 - £55,000 per annum plus benefits

Due to continued growth and success an industry leading manufacturer based in Ammanford require a Continuous Improvement Manager to join the team. Your role will involve successfully leading, guiding and executing a variety of Continuous Improvement activities taking the organisation to new and higher levels of proficiency in lean business concepts. You will bring an energetic and results orientated approach to the business producing tangible results.

 

You will create a sense of urgency around Lean processes and their outcome. Certification and proficiency in the process often leads to positions at the next level of management.

The successful Continuous Improvement Manager will be working to improve processes not only across manufacturing but also the broader business across 6 sites.

Responsibilities:

Act as an internal entrepreneur and ambassador on matters related to removing waste within the business, lead, guide and energise the respective plant, lead centre or site.
Promote the lean and CI methodology and take to new heights within the organization
Coordinate and drive Operational Excellence initiatives locally
Help identify opportunities for improvement through Plant KPI’s monitoring and Value Stream Mapping execution
Plan, organize, conduct and follow up kaizen events
Conduct kaizen and Lean Systems Green Belt training
Facilitate kaizen teams
Track and report kaizen results
Guide organization in lean systems implementation.
Host outside kaizen participants
Communicate Lean and CI related information
Continually improve training materials and techniques
Follow up on Qualification Matrix to support and promote employees’ Lean/CI certifications
Promote recognition of those who participate in lean project

Experience/skills:

Ideally you will be degree educated in an Engineering (or similar), although experienced candidates without a degree will be considered
Experienced Continuous Improvement Manager / Lean Leader
Six Sigma - ideally Black Belt certification
Excellent understanding and experience of Lean methodologies
A manufacturing/engineering background is highly desirable
Good leadership skills
Excellent problem solving, communication and training skills
