Water Project Manager

£50,000 - £55,000 per annum plus excellent benefits

I am proud to bring to market, this fantastic opportunity for a Water and Environmental Project Manager. You will form part of a renowned business with a strong commitment to the environment. This business produces a range of still and carbonated water along with other own label water. This business is very pro-active when it comes to recycling practices and energy use. As Water Project Manager you will manage all water resource activities, acting as a technical expert to support operations and water related improvement projects.

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

  • Assist in the management of the existing owned sources ensuring water availability and compliance.
  • Ensure all water resource related assets are effectively maintained, monitored, and measured.
  • Manage external consultants or contractors as appropriate.
  • Manage all aspects of water resource data acquisition and analysis to support the business in water quality management, supply availability, and environmental performance.                    
  • Act as Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the Factory with specified third-party stakeholders (e.g. local council and agencies, environment agency, consultants, landowners etc.) to ensure good working relationships and support on all water resource management, improvement and compliance activities.                                              
  • Work with the engineering team to maintain and optimise existing water treatment assets and lead the process of investment.                                     
  • Liaise directly with Europe water resource team as well as other key stakeholders across different functions within the company to ensure alignment of all activities.                          
  • Support business sustainability initiatives relating to Water Resources by managing Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) certification and other local catchment improvement projects.                                                            

Skills, qualifications and experience required

 

  • Relevant degree or equivalent in Hydrogeology or a related discipline
  • Experience in managing groundwater resources
  • Knowledge of technical issues related to boreholes, springs and groundwater quality.
  • Proven ability to critically evaluate results of hydrogeological analyses and reports, and give effective and targeted advice on managing complex environmental issues
  • Knowledge of UK legislation related to water resources, environmental permitting, food quality and hygiene.
  • Proven track record in being able to succeed in a complex environment requiring flexibly and agility in managing priorities and stakeholders
  • Able to dialogue with all levels of management.
  • Able to work under pressure and yet stay calm before management.
  • Able to set priorities and delegate activities.
