Job description

IntaPeople are currently working with a SAAS provider that offer several services from bespoke web/software application development, digital transformation, project management, cloud migration, business intelligence and information security services. They have managed to grow from strength to strength throughout the last 24 months and now require an experienced test lead to help create and implement a QA function in the development team.

You will work closely with senior developers, leads and management to help develop, define and create a successful testing function within the business. We’re looking for candidates who have experience not only at a senior/leadership level but who have built, recruited the test strategy around them in previous organisations/projects.

 Essential skills

  • Experience leading small testing teams
  • Strong Software testing skills
  • Ability to produce high-quality test documentation including test cases , plans and release notes/cycles
  • Strong mentorship and people management skills
  • A good understanding of agile software development tools and processes
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to enable you to support the team and wider business  
  • Stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities:

  • You will take responsibility for the ownership and visions of the quality assurance function whilst supporting the full stack software developers with their current testing requirements.
  • Help recruit, define and create the internal testing function
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to all testers
  • Help design the organisations test strategy
  • Provide direction for technical and operational optimisation and improvement
  • Help document and build domain knowledge and understanding
  • Help manage requirements
  • Contribute to establishing acceptance criteria
  • Contribute to commercial projects as a tester

Desirable but not essential skills

  • Automation experience or the willingness to learn
  • AGILE environment
  • Experience testing web applications, especially .NET and Azure
  • Experience with data-driven applications and SQL databases

  • Test Lead
  • Competitive Salary (£40,000 - £50,000) - DOE
  • Starting at 25days annual leave per year with an increase year on year to 35days (plus BH)
