We want to speak to engineers who can work with feature development through the full lifecycle: from requirements gathering, specification and prototyping through to deployment and ongoing iteration. Just as importantly we want to speak to people who are fast learners who will thrive in a rapidly evolving startup with continuous delivery and fortnightly product releases.
That being said while they tend to use server-side PHP – a Ruby app or a Python app or a Go app could message the Data API just the same. In fact, they’ve chosen Node.js over PHP for several of the new applications, without missing a beat. They’ve found that they’re able to lean on smart APIs that are designed specifically for, and can grow with, their clients.
The company use agile delivery models with modern software development techniques including iterative development, test automation, continuous integration and automated infrastructure - There’s no trace of complicated, legacy infrastructure hold-backs here!
Knowledge of MongoDB, Elasticsearch, cross-platform Electron apps would be a plus but not essential. The teams use a few notable frameworks such as Backbone, AngularJS and ReactJS however have also started to incorporate Web Components to make code modular in a framework-agnostic manner.
