I have a fantastic opportunity with a client based in Newport who due to increased productivity are recruiting for an experienced Quality Technician. This is a business that supplies to various industries such as aerospace, defence, automotive, power generation and oil & gas to name a few.

 

As Quality Technician you will be responsible for the inspection of customer parts, performing laboratory duties including the analysis of test specimens and assisting in the maintenance and monitoring of the sites quality management system.  

 

Main responsibilities

 

  • Perform final Inspection, being responsible for the quality of product leaving the factory guided by job instructions, standards and specifications
  • Carry out other inspection duties, such as PPI, as required, in support of production
  • Carry out all laboratory testing requirements on test specimens in accordance with customer specifications and international standards
  • Maintain the laboratory test specimen results database/spreadsheet.
  • Compile and publish laboratory reports indicating results of test specimens as requested
  • Participate in RCA at site to help decrease non-conformance trends
  • Monitor laboratory data for trends and act pre-emptively to prevent non-conformities
  • Carry out final release documentation checks and sign Certificates of Conformance
  • Liaise with Customers and Suppliers as required to resolve issues
  • Become familiar with AS9100 and NADCAP process requirements
  • Liaise with internal departments to troubleshoot daily and work towards eliminating sources of non-conformance.
  • Perform Internal audits as requited to support the sites quality management system.

 

Qualifications, skills and experience required

 

  • Familiar with lab procedures and methods
  • Familiar with inspection techniques
  • Ability to read and follow drawings/ specifications
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
