Purchase Office Clerk

£18,000 - £20,000 per annum plus benefits

30 hours per week

Crewkerne, Somerset

Permanent

This position would suit someone with the desire to work school hours playing a key role within a busy manufacturing business based in Crewkerne. Reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager you will be responsible for the proactive and efficient expediting and tracking of all open purchase orders. Assisting purchasing with placing orders with nominated suppliers. This post requires the successful candidate to work 6 hours per day.

As Purchase Office Clerk you will be responsible for

  • Placing orders with nominated suppliers
  • Processing data on to the computer system
  • Chasing order confirmations for delivery information
  • Proactively, liaising with suppliers regarding their delivery schedules
  • Ensuring all information on the system is entered accurately and updated on time
  • Completing daily paperwork to ensure the commercial system is up to date
  • Escalating supplier delivery slippages to your line manager

Skills, qualifications, and experience requited

  • Previous administration experience highly advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Good computer/IT skills (particularly MS Excel)
  • Ability to prioritise and multi-task
  • Efficient and punctual
  • Professional, friendly & approachable
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Flexibility in accordance with Company requirements whilst exhibiting a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Sage experience
