Job description

Are you an engineer who enjoys turning concepts into scalable manufacturing reality? We’re looking for a Process Development/NPI Engineer to play a key role in taking products from design through to full production.

This position sits at the intersection of design, manufacturing and quality. You’ll be responsible for developing and validating robust assembly processes, supporting new product introduction, and improving existing manufacturing operations across performance, cost and quality.

You’ll have exposure across the full product lifecycle and the chance to influence how new technologies move from prototype to scalable manufacture. If you enjoy bridging design intent with manufacturing reality — this role gives you the scope to do exactly that.

It’s a varied role and the company is open to shaping the position around the right person — especially someone who can collaborate, think critically and drive continuous improvement.

What you’ll be doing

  • Support the introduction of new products and manufacturing processes
  • Develop and optimise assembly methods, tooling/jigs and fixtures
  • Ensure products meet Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) requirements
  • Plan and execute process validation activities (e.g. IQ/OQ/PQ)
  • Monitor yield, cycle times and production metrics, leading root cause and corrective actions where required
  • Influence process innovation, equipment selection and line layout
  • Contribute to CAPA and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Prepare manufacturing and technical documentation to support transfer to production
  • Work closely with design, quality and manufacturing teams to ensure on-time, cost-effective and compliant delivery of NPI programmes
  • Support existing product improvements to enhance efficiency, quality and compliance

What we’re looking for

  • Background in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics or similar engineering discipline (HNC, Degree or equivalent experience)
  • Experience of NPI / process development within a regulated industry
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing assembly techniques and methods
  • Experience with process validation and/or GMP environments
  • Exposure to continuous improvement, Lean, Six Sigma or equivalent tools
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation
  • CAD proficiency for tooling design (SolidWorks or similar preferred)
  • Confident communicator able to work cross-functionally and influence project outcomes
  • Comfortable working hands-on while also contributing to documentation, analysis and project planning
