A leading research and technology organisation in Newport is looking for a Power Electronics Engineer to join their growing R&D team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting‑edge technologies within a hands‑on, innovative environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing and developing power electronics hardware and software
- Circuit design, simulation, modelling and prototyping
- Schematic capture, PCB layout and documentation
- Testing, validation and fault investigation (including FMEA)
- Working with suppliers and supporting full product lifecycle development
What We’re Looking For
- Strong background in power electronics (essential)
- Industry experience in design, development and testing
- Schematic capture & PCB layout skills
- C/C++ programming
- Degree in a relevant engineering discipline
Desirable: MSc/PhD, Chartered status, automotive or safety‑critical experience (e.g., ISO 26262), broader analogue/digital/thermal/EMI design exposure.
