Platform Integration Engineer (Python) – Oxford
We are working with a well-funded medical technology focussed start up based in Oxford and looking for a Platform Integration Engineer to join the team.
What you’ll be doing…
In this team you will play a key role in ensuring the platform integrates seamlessly with third-party systems – in recent years the company has proven the value of their product with customers as a standalone service. They are now scaling up their tooling to enable rapid, reliable deployment of new installations while also streamlining the deployment of updates to existing customers. Finding a capable & driven Platform Integration Engineer is key to both of these tasks by helping to deliver this next phase of the product.
Your day to day role will be varied and could include developing modules to interface with other clinical systems, integrating new features such as nurse call buttons, electronic patient records and pagers as well as working on the core platform, assisting with troubleshooting or testing. You will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of technologies including Python3, Nodejs, and AWS.
Integration tasks could involve anything from modern REST APIs to serial comms, depending on what a third-party system supports. They are also looking to extend the platform's reach to integrate with EPRs and more.
About you…
If you are looking to work on a growing project with opportunities to learn new skills and enhance existing ones then this role is ideal. You will be surrounded by a team supporting you in doing so, working collaboratively to find the right solution for the problem. You should be comfortable developing against a spec as well as liaising with third-party representatives when developing integrations.
To be considered for the role, you should have experience of the following -
* Python3
* Linux
* Using and developing APIs
* REST
* Communication technologies (at least one of TCP/IP, UDP, or serial)
For this role we would love it if you also had exposure to HL-7 although not an issue if you don’t. Alongside this you will also learn more about Nodejs, Ruby, and other languages as well as CI/CD systems.
