Software Engineer – Senior – Full Stack

IntaPeople is working with an FTSE100 client who is seeking a passionate mid-level software engineer with experience and interest in full-stack development and who is keen to enter a hybrid work environment, joining an established development team based in Cardiff.

In this role, you will join an agile team whose focus is on enhancing and building new capabilities to address customers' challenges.

Responsibilities that are undertaken as a Senior Full Stack Developer:

  • Develop and deliver features across their full-stack (Modern PHP frameworks, front-end frameworks, Cloud services, and architecture)
  • Provide a high level of technical input when breaking down customer problems and help the team create customer value
  • Provide a high level of technical input when designing new and scalable solutions
  • Contribute to quality assurance efforts through test automation tools (Cypress, Cucumber, and Postman) and Continuous Integration tools (Github Actions)
  • Collaborate with the product owner and project management roles to deliver timely products and enhancements
  • Support the team in achieving their mission, by helping to set OKRs and realise success
  • Mentor other team members and support efforts to help our team grow

Key Requirements needed as a Senior Full Stack Developer:

  • Strong and enthusiastic technologist, able to demonstrate a broad technical knowledge and application of this to create scalable solutions
  • Extensive experience in PHP development skills using modern frameworks (Laravel or similar)
  • Experience or interest in using modern development languages to advance performance and capability (E.g. Go, Python)
  • An interest in using big data to solve challenging problems
  • Strong understanding of Service Orientated Architecture and API design
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD concepts
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of application development tools and environments

Please note, that this 6-month contract has been deemed to be inside IR35, you are required to work through a UK-based FSCA-approved umbrella company.  The role is hybrid, therefore a combination of remote and attending the office where possible for occasional team meetings.  If Cardiff is commutable, the goal is to meet with the team every two weeks. If more remote, the goal is once per quarter. The office is open and available 5 days a week, candidates must be UK based.
