A high tech start-up are currently looking for a NPI/Process Improvement Engineer to join their team in the new year. They are looking for an ambitious engineer to join their team, ready for the start of the new year.
They are currently in the process of regulatory approvals on their first product/s and will be developing their next generation of products over the next few years. Their tech is novel and patented, and will have a huge positive impact on people’s lives. And this purpose of this role, is to be the manufacturing subject matter expert in CMO (contractual manufacturing organisation) sites.
This role is remote: travel required to Head Office in near Bristol (first 6 moths) and CMO organisations currently located in West Suffolk (80%) and Kent (20%). Fuel & accommodation will be covered when needed!
Role requirements:
- Technical support and contact for both head office & CMO sites
- Continuous improvement and cost reduction solutions
- Support to engineering teams (prototyping, DFM, material selection etc.)
- Review designs for approval (familiarity with 2D/3D/BOMs)
- Ensure compliance is with all regulations and standards are met (ISO: 13485 & 14001)
- Assist to carry out assembly trials
- Troubleshooting of products
Experience:
- 5+ years experience in a similar role (medical devices - advantageous) (automotive, aerospace, pharma, food - considered)
- Ability to demonstrate thorough knowledge of manufacturing assembly processes
- Clear ability to manage managing and working with sub-contractors/suppliers
- Experience in NPI
- CAD skills (preferably SolidWorks)
- Development of manufacturing process documentation
