Non-Destructive Testing Engineer

£36,000 - £38,000 per annum plus benefits

I am excited to bring to market this unique opportunity for an experienced NDT Engineer based in Newport, South Wales. Due to continued growth and an increase in productivity they currently require an experienced NDT Engineer. You will efficiently run and maintain the NDT facility ensuring to follow procedure and customer order requirements.

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for operating within the NDT facility.
  • Carry out daily inspection checks.
  • Responsible for maintaining the NDT facility including NADCAP and customer approvals.
  • Support the quality and production departments with incoming and final inspection activities.
  • Support internal lab with metallographic preparation and testing.
  • Responsible for quality of work and level of production.
  • Ensure that components are finished accordingly to the quality standards/ process documentation for each application.
  • Inspect parts for before and after processing to ensure operations have been carried out correctly.
  • Enable the company to meet its own legal duties and to report any hazardous situations or defective equipment.

 

 

Qualifications experience and skills required.

 

  • Qualified EN4179 Level 2 or equivalent
  • Documented NDT experience within the aerospace industry
  • Experience in technique writing.
  • Experience within a NADCAP approved NDT facility.
  • Competent in use of measuring equipment and measuring techniques.
  • Experience in reading engineering drawings.
