Looking for a Lead Software Engineer role where you will have ongoing L&D opportunities as well as a structured roadmap in terms of progression? IntaPeople are delighted to be partnered with a fintech to scale up the product engineering team as they embark on a huge global acquisition. 

Based in the heart of Cardiff, they are a thriving fintech creating asset management and equipment finance software for a range of multinational clients; their software is well-proven all over Europe.

About the role …

As a Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the architectural design and technical direction together with our departments
  • Collaborating with stakeholders and technical leads to understand requirements and helping translate them into architectural designs
  • Ensuring the quality, scalability, and performance of our software systems
  • Guiding and mentoring teams, providing technical leadership and expertise
  • Driving innovation and staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends

Essential experience and technology skills:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Proven experience as a Software Architect, ideally in a lead role (not people leadership)
  • Strong hands-on coding skills and expertise in Java and related technologies
  • Experience with modern software development practices and methodologies, such as Agile and DevOps
  • Deep understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities
  • Experience with cloud technologies, such as AWS or Azure, is a plus
