Junior QA Engineer (Contract) – Madrid, Spain

We’re supporting a major international business on the search for a Junior QA Engineer to join their technology team on an initial 6-month contract, with strong potential for extension.
This is a great opportunity for a junior-level QA professional or recent graduate looking to build hands-on experience within a fast-paced enterprise environment, working across business-critical systems and collaborating closely with senior technology stakeholders.
The Role
You’ll support the testing and quality assurance of core digital platforms, helping to ensure system reliability, functionality, and smooth delivery across multiple releases.
Working as part of a wider technology services function, you’ll be involved in the full testing lifecycle... from analysing requirements through to defect management and regression testing.

– Hybrid working (1–2 days per week onsite)
– Immediate start
– Initial 6-month contract
– Extension likely (additional 6 months)
– Day rate: Up to €300 per day
Language Requirements
– English (essential)
– Spanish (required)
– Italian or French (nice to have)
What You’ll Be Doing
– Reviewing user stories and acceptance criteria to identify testing requirements
– Analysing system workflows and identifying high-risk functional areas
– Designing and maintaining manual test scenarios and test cases
– Testing across positive and negative scenarios, validations, edge cases, and exception handling
– Performing end-to-end and integration testing across front-end and back-end services
– Validating calculations, business logic, workflows, and system state transitions
– Executing smoke and regression testing across sprint and release cycles
– Logging and managing defects with clear supporting evidence
– Re-testing fixes and working closely with developers, business analysts, and product stakeholders
– Preparing test data and supporting environment readiness for execution
Key Deliverables
– Test scenarios and detailed test cases
– Regression and smoke test checklists
– Test execution reports and supporting evidence
– Defect tickets with full documentation
What We’re Looking For
– Previous QA / software testing experience (commercial, internship, placement, or academic project work)
– Strong understanding of manual testing principles
– Good attention to detail and analytical thinking
– Ability to clearly document defects and test outcomes
– Comfortable working in collaborative Agile delivery environments
– Exposure to enterprise systems testing would be beneficial
