Junior Project Manager, Madrid, Spain


Hybrid working – minimum 2 onsite visits per month
Contract until December 2026, with likely extension into 2027
Start date: Mid-June 2026

A major international organisation is looking for a Junior Project Manager to support a large-scale business and technology transformation programme focused on modernising core commercial and risk platforms.

This is a strong opportunity for someone early in their project management career who wants exposure to a complex international programme environment, working across multiple European teams.

The role

You’ll support programme execution across a number of key transformation workstreams, helping ensure delivery stays on track through effective coordination, reporting and governance.

Key responsibilities include:

Plan management and delivery tracking

Programme reporting and status updates

Risk, issue and escalation management

Budget tracking and control

Supporting programme governance activities

Driving structure, accountability and delivery discipline across teams

Coordinating with stakeholders across multiple locations and time zones

What we’re looking for

Previous experience in Project Management, PMO or project coordination

Strong organisational skills with a proactive approach

Experience supporting budgets, reporting and programme controls

Good understanding of IT and technology delivery environments

Comfortable working within complex transformation programmes

Strong communication skills and confidence working with senior stakeholders

Technical experience

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 tools including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint

Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps or ServiceNow would be highly beneficial

Additional requirements

Fluent business-level English is essential

Spanish language skills would be advantageous

Experience working across international teams and multiple time zones

Able to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams

Based in or able to commute to Madrid for onsite meetings at least twice per month

Contract details

Initial contract through to December 2026

Potential extension into 2027

Target onboarding by mid-June

Interview process taking place during the final week of May
