Job description

IntaPeople are looking for an Indirect Procurement Lead to join a team that leads indirect procurement activities for a South Wales site, assisting with other EMEA sites.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Understanding the business needs, sourcing for solutions, engaging with suppliers and finalising the engagement by contracting – you will have full responsibility of the process.
  • Proactively identifying areas to enhance business opportunities, driving process improvement, and cost efficiencies.
  • Providing insight to the business units on how to best develop and maximise supplier capabilities for the organisation, driving supplier consolidation.
  • Developing plans and delivering results with collaboration with businesses in a constantly evolving environment.
  • Implementing procurement plans aligned with regional strategies to support business needs.
  • Leading projects and initiatives that have significant impact on the regional business.
  • Anticipating internal and external business challenges and inspiring change.
  • Understanding the overall needs of multiple business units and to negotiate an accepted portfolio meeting the most strategic needs of the category.


Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) gained within a relevant field
  • Substantial and proven experience as an indirect procurement buyer
  • Indirect procurement purchasing, sourcing and contract negotiation capability across a broad array of indirect categories including travel, events, consulting, professional services, staff augmentations, labor services, training, facilities, marketing, supplies
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills and be comfortable coordinating tasks across multiple functions and global locations
  • Experience in handling and leading contracting with suppliers from a legal, insurance and commercial perspective.
  • The ability to be self-motivated and self-managed
  • Excellent interdisciplinary, intercultural, influence, and networking skills
  • The skills to be a creative thinker, with a desire and ability to look for better ways to approach issues and situations
  • Strong team orientation, with a strong sense of commitment to team members and clients and the ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Strong data analysis, management, presentation and reporting skills
  • Excellent understanding of procurement processes, concepts and best practices
  • Understanding of strategic sourcing, category management, contract management and supplier management
  • Ability to effectively present information to executive management, internal clients and suppliers
  • Microsoft Office applications proficiency
  • Understanding of procurement technology platforms, SAP or similar system experience
