Job description

We’re continuing to partner exclusively with a world‑leading manufacturing organisation to appoint a Health, Safety & Environmental Manager for their Port Talbot site, a role that blends hands‑on leadership, strategic influence, and international collaboration.

This isn’t a “maintenance” HSE role.  It’s a position with genuine scope: shaping culture, elevating systems, and contributing to global HSE standards across a respected international group.

What you’ll lead

  • Own and continuously improve the site’s HSE management systems and compliance.
  • Coach and influence managers and teams to build a proactive, world‑class safety culture.
  • Conduct audits, risk assessments and compliance reviews across complex machinery and processes.
  • Lead and support investigations, ensuring robust root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Manage HSE reporting, KPIs and documentation for group‑level review.
  • Liaise with customers, regulators and internal stakeholders during audits and inspections.
  • Support compliance and related regulations.
  • Supervise an on‑site HSE Advisor and contribute to wider BG‑level HSE initiatives.

What you’ll bring

  • Degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science or similar.
  • Experience in an HSE management role within manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001 or equivalent systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and carry out detailed risk assessments.
  • Strong communication, coaching and influencing skills.
  • Confident working independently with integrity and sound judgement.
  • Willingness to travel internationally for occasional audits, training and meetings.

Why this role stands out

You’ll join a respected global organisation with a strong commitment to safety, innovation and continuous improvement.  You’ll have autonomy to shape the HSE culture at a key UK site.  You’ll be part of an international HSE community, contributing to group‑level strategy and best practice.  You’ll have visibility, influence and the chance to make a meaningful impact.

If you’re ready to lead, influence and elevate HSE performance, we’d love to hear from you. Send your CV for a confidential conversation about your experience and next potential career move.
