Food Specification Technologist
£30,000 - £33,000 per annum plus benefits

Intapeople are working exclusively with this renowned Food Manufacturing business based in Ammanford who due to a recent restructure and internal promotion require a Food Specification Technologist. Reporting directly to the Technical Compliance Manager you will form part of a highly successful team.
In this role, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining product specifications, ensuring they meet regulatory standards and customer requirements. If you have a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of food safety and quality standards, I would love to hear from you!
As Food Specification Technologist you’ll be….
- Maintaining and approving finished product specifications
- Maintaining and approving the supplier self-audit questionnaires for new and existing suppliers
- Approve and maintain finished product specifications sold under the business brand
- Maintain, update, and issue the approved suppliers list.
- Take full ownership of the finished product tracker managing spec approvals
- Maintain the allergens data and respond to any allergens/ nutritional requests
- Assist and provide full support in traceability exercises performed
- Maintain and update relevant systems and databases liaising with Operations, Technical and NPD as appropriate
- Participate in internal or external audits ensuring all relevant product specification information is available and completed in the required timescale
What you’ll bring to the team
- Sound technical knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes ideally within the Food Manufacturing/ FMCG Industry
- A strong awareness of Good Manufacturing Practice Standards
- Intermediate HACCP Principles
- FIC Legislation awareness would be an advantage
- Understanding the requirements of ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14000, QMS, BRC, GMP and Customer Codes of Practice
- Strong team ethic and ability to work autonomously under own initiative
- Good communication skills and an aptitude for attention to detail
- Highly analytical and process driven
