Looking for an Engineering Lead role where you will have ongoing L&D opportunities as well as a structured roadmap in terms of progression? IntaPeople are delighted to be partnered with a fintech to scale up the product engineering team as they embark on a huge global acquisition. 

Based in the heart of Cardiff, they are a thriving fintech creating asset management and equipment finance software for a range of multinational clients; their software is well proven all over Europe.

About you…

  • You’ll be an inquisitive engineer with a passion for learning; someone who can bring positivity and a beacon of light when things are tough.
  • We are open to Development team leads, Senior Software Engineers with a Scrum Master background and mid-level developers who can demonstrate lead experience but have not had the title.
  • As the team are working in a start-up environment, we’re looking for the kind of person who pitches in with the team and shares ideas in daily stand-ups.
  • They have a strong team culture so the ideal candidate will thrive in this environment and enjoy contributing within a collaborative environment. They often have socials, whether it’s after works drinks, games, axe throwing, golf, bowling or anything else that pops in in town.

  • Delivery
    • Organising delivery ceremonies (refinement, planning etc)
    • Driving a culture of continuous improvement
    • Balancing the capacity of the team between product and technical debt /improvements

    • Regular structured 1-2-1s
    • Setting quarterly SMART objectives in line with business objectives
    • Understanding and supporting career development
  • Coaching & Mentoring
    • Setting quarterly personal objectives
    • Coaching attitudes and behaviours
  • Reporting
    • Providing visibility on progress and issues to Head of Product Engineering
  • Facilitating and unblocking
    • Single point of contact for the team
    • Working closely with other Team Leads to ensure coordination of effort
    • Providing a point of escalation for the team
    • Facilitating team ownership of software, delivery & quality
  • Technical Project Management
    • Running technical initiatives in a structured way alongside product delivery
  • Knowledge
    • Knowledge sharing, both intra and inter team
    • Identifying training requirements
    • Ensuring the team produce documentation to the required standard
