Embedded Systems Engineer

An innovative maritime and defence technology company in Portsmouth is seeking an experienced Embedded Systems Engineer to join their technical team. This is a hands-on role supporting the development of advanced systems used in naval and defence applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, integrate, and maintain embedded systems for complex maritime and defence platforms.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure system performance, reliability, and compliance.
• Contribute to testing, validation, and verification activities of hardware and software systems.
• Apply engineering principles to optimise system design, functionality, and maintainability.
• Support technical documentation, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance.

Experience/Skills:

• Experience working on defence or maritime systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Systems, or related discipline).
• Strong understanding of embedded systems and system integration.
• Valid security clearance – candidates must either hold or be eligible to obtain.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
