Embedded Software Engineer - Avionics

Location: Cheltenham, UK 

Contract Duration: 12 month project

If so, we want to hear from you! We are looking for a Mid-Range and Senior Embedded Software Engineer for our client in Cheltenham.

We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Engineer to join our dynamic team on a 12-month contract in Cheltenham. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a high-impact project, contributing to the development of next-generation avionics systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and test embedded software for avionics applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and specifications.
  • Implement software solutions that meet stringent safety and performance standards.
  • Perform debugging and troubleshooting to ensure optimal system functionality.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring the highest levels of quality and efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in embedded software development.
  • Valid security clearance is essential
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++.
  • Strong knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded Linux.
  • Experience with microcontrollers, microprocessors, and hardware interfacing.
  • Familiarity with software development tools and methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Desirable:

  • Avionics experience is highly advantageous.
  • Understanding of industry standards and regulations related to avionics software.
  • Experience with safety-critical systems and DO-178C certification.
