IntaPeople are proud to be supporting a well-established organisation who require an experienced DevOps Engineer to join their cross functional Software Development team.

This role plays a key part in the delivery of high-quality products within the software/cloud development team. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines and play a pivotal role in migration of current hosting to a full or hybrid cloud solution.

Working as part of a wider team, you will collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and operations to streamline deployment and infrastructure management processes.

Responsibilities (at glance):

  • Design, implement, and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline
  • Support and train technical staff in upskilling necessary for ongoing operations
  • Monitor and ensure system reliability, availability, and performance using tools like: CloudWatch, Prometheus, Icinga2, Grafana, and Datadog, Automate deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Managing a Proxmox environment with linux based Docker hosts

Essential Skills

  • Experience working as DevOps Engineer (3-5+ years min)
  • Strong experience with CI/CD practices and tools
  • Experience Docker and Docker Swarm
  • Experience working in a Proxmox virtualization environment
  • Experience working with tools such as Ansible GitHub Actions, Jenkins
  •  Infrastructure as Code methodologies using Terraform/ OpenTofu, CloudFormation, or similar
  • Linux administration (Ubuntu/Debian)
  • Bash /Powershell scripting

Should have/desirable skills

  • Travis CI
  • Monitoring – Grafana, Icinga Prometheus
  • Rabbit MQ/AMQP
  • Working knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS): EC2, VPC, RDS, S3, IAM, ECS/EKS, Lambda
  • Kubernetes
  • DBMS experience such as MySQL or PostgreSQL

Having experience with microservices architecture, Amazon Web Services, PHP and JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js would be highly desirable but not essential.

  • DevOps Engineer
  • Office location – South Wales/ Near Cardiff or the option to reside in their London offices can be considered 
  • Flexible and remote working (expectations are 2days per week on site)
  • A competitive starting salary of £70,000 - £75,00 depending on experience
  • Annual bonus of up to 10% of your salary (performance-based)
