Job description

Business Analyst – e-Invoicing / Finance Systems Transformation

Contract: 6 months initially (potential extension)
Location: Cardiff preferred but you can be based more or less fully remotely anywhere in the UK with occasional travel to Cardiff and potentially international locations

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with e-Invoicing experience to join a global technology team supporting the implementation of electronic invoicing requirements across multiple countries.

This is a key role within a Shared Components e-Invoicing team, working across Finance, IT and external technology providers to ensure systems, processes and data are aligned with changing regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will have experience analysing e-Invoicing requirements, understanding tax and regulatory mandates, and translating complex business needs into clear technical and functional requirements.

The Role

You will support the rollout of country-specific e-Invoicing solutions, helping the organisation understand regulatory changes, assess impacts on existing processes, and ensure successful implementation across multiple regions.

Working closely with Finance teams, IT stakeholders and external service providers, you will be responsible for requirements gathering, process analysis, data mapping and coordinating implementation activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse country-specific e-Invoicing mandates and assess their impact on business processes, systems and invoice data requirements.
  • Perform gap analysis between existing invoice processes and new regulatory requirements.
  • Gather, document and validate business, functional and data requirements.
  • Define and maintain data mappings between source systems, integration services and e-Invoicing platforms.
  • Support implementation of e-Invoicing requirements including invoice validation, clearance, reporting and transmission processes.
  • Work with external providers to understand message formats, validation rules, integrations and regulatory requirements.
  • Document end-to-end invoice processes, data flows and system interactions.
  • Support onboarding of new countries and legal entities, ensuring systems and processes are ready for go-live.
  • Facilitate workshops and discussions between Finance, IT teams and external partners.
  • Act as the link between business users, technical teams and third-party providers.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential:

  • Proven experience working as a Business Analyst, Functional Consultant or similar role within finance systems, ERP or digital transformation projects.
  • Strong understanding of e-Invoicing regulations, tax rules and compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting e-Invoicing implementations across multiple countries or jurisdictions.
  • Experience with requirements gathering, gap analysis, process mapping and documentation.
  • Strong understanding of invoice lifecycle processes and finance operations.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, finance platforms or invoice automation solutions.
  • Ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable:

  • Experience with global e-Invoicing mandates, VAT compliance or digital tax initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Peppol, UBL, XML, EN16931 or similar e-Invoicing standards.
  • Experience working with external e-Invoicing providers or tax authority platforms.
  • Experience within large international organisations.

Contract Details

  • Initial 6-month contract with potential extension.
  • Full-time engagement (40 hours per week).
  • Cardiff preferred, although candidates across the UK, Netherlands or Europe will be considered.
  • Hybrid working available, with occasional travel required depending on location.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Business Analyst to work on a high-profile international e-Invoicing transformation programme, helping deliver compliance with evolving global tax and regulatory requirements.
